After handing in our skates, we headed to Nottingham & to the Pitcher & Piano for a yummy dinner before heading off to the NIC & Panthers v Steelers fun! It was an event filled game, with Panthers having not 1, not 2, but THREE players thrown out the game! The referee came in for a lot of stick (literally as it turns out, hence Penner’s send off!) & we eventually lost 1:4, but oh my, was it an entertaining game!
Super Sports Saturday! Mum & dad came to Meadow Lane to see Notts beat Plymouth 2:0. We had the worst referee I’d seen in a long time, I’m sure he had a bet on Plym to score! so I was very pleased we managed to keep the clean sheet. Oh & we all ate pie. And it was guuuud. So good in fact we all treated ourselves to another one!
On a high from Notts & we then strolled over to the NIC via Hooters (it’s gotta be done!) I truly thought I would have to catch dad’s eyes, they were so close to popping out! Nottingham Panthers vs Dundee Stars game was amazing, I’ve never had to stand up to celebrate a score so many times; dad & I were looking at each other incredulous in the end, laughing at the final score of 12:2 yes, that’s right… TWELVE! We headed back to ours afterwards to all offer our opinion on X Factor & sup on wine & chomp on chips; cue dad’s 3rd pie of the day! Chauffeur Roo then drove mum & dad home & we arranged to pick them up the next day…
And what a day! A typical crisp, not-a-cloud-in-the-sky autumnal wonderfullness of a day! We drove to Papplewick cricket club to show them the wonderful view…
We’re hoping to do a view filled 8 mile walk tomorrow (Roo’s idea lol!). Emmie & Frankie should be up next weekend & maybe even Stu for the Robin Hood Pageant, then the following weekend I’m back daaan saaaf, my penultimate trip before the new year! Other than that, not a huge amount on plans other than footie, hockey, gym & trashy Saturday telly! Works going fantastically & I’m really enjoying it, I’m totally appreciated & hey, where else can you step out of your office & play ball with a dog?!
Well… Notts have lost. I’m still in my pj’s & I guess I’d better get myself into the shower! Ready for Merlin/Strictly/X Factor. Oh relaxing lazy day, how I <3 thee!
