So, lets see… <grabs calendar>
Cripes! I hadn't even finished with the end of October!… this make take some time, I'd grab yourselves a cup (or glass hehe)! Are you sitting comfortably?… then I'll begin…
So, let's see, last time I updated Murray & Hayley & the wee ones and mum & dad had visited and Emmie & Frankie were on their way…
"Mummy. I need a wee wee!"
Mummy: "Are you sure Frankie?"
Frankie: "Yes mummy. I need a wee wee"
Mummy: "OK, but, you don't want to miss Robin Hood, shall we quickly pop to the bushes?"
Frankie: "No mummy, not the bushes :( … Mummy, I need a wee wee"
Mummy: "OK, lets go quickly now"
…
..
.
Mummy: "Frankie?"… "Frankie, lets quickly go & have a wee wee"
…
..
.
Frankie:"It's OK Mummy. Done it"!!!!
He had! I can't remember the last time we all laughed so hard! & he wouldn't move, he wouldn't leave until the show had finished bless him! He must has sat in those cold wet trousers for a good 20 minutes, but he clearly didn't care, he loves knights & horses & Robin Hood that much!
Back home (& a change of clothes later) wine, Roo's Moussaka & my crumble were consumed whilst songs were mullered on X-Factor & ladies were dragged on & over the dance floor. Much catching up was had :D
The next day Emmie, Frank & I headed back to Nottingham on the tram… wedding dress hunting! <SSssqqqquuueeeeeee!!!> we found some heavenly floaty dresses & Emmie looked beautiful in them (I even video'd her hehe) The, after a ladies & lad wot lunch at the Pitcher & Piano we stumbled upon a little exhibition… there were fab things like playing chair pong, something that put your face into an image when you shouted at it & an area you stood in & your shadow collected snowflake drops. Was super fun :)
Before I knew it I was saying goodbye :( and on the train home… :'(
The following weekend was lovely & relaxing… Roo bought me some ice skates :) they're like (but not. defiantly NOT) Ugg boots & after carefully studying the Panthers vs Devils (lost in overtime, but, a great game) on Saturday, we took to the ice the next morning. Bambi doesn't even come close to describing it! but oh my is it fun! we're aiming to go 2-3 times a week & Roo is hoping to get good enough to play hockey! - he's been invited to play at "fat dad's" (what?… he's a dad to some fish!) on Sunday nights… watch this space!
Go Ape.
I did.
Seriously, if you ever find yourself in a situation where friends say… it's great, you'll really enjoy it… just ask exactly what "it" is! in my case it was strapping a harness round my legs & waist, climbing up rope ladders… going across various obstacles of ropes & bridges & Zip lining down. On 6 sections. That's 6 times I hauled my fat ass up a wobbly rope ladder. 6 times I said "what the hell am I doing up here?" 6 times I felt utter relief at touching the ground again (mostly on my back… must work on those landings!) & 1 time… at the end, when I was very very proud of myself. I feel I should also tell you that I didn't remember how bad my fear of heights was, until I climbed the 1st rope ladder up. there was a part of the 1st station that I honestly cried. Real tears! I just couldn't bring myself to trust my clamps & safety wire & just leap out (OK, it wasn't actually a leap, but, it felt like it!) into the barrels that formed part of the rope bridge. Nic helped me loads & Roo laughed at me from the other side (he always does! in an affectionate way mind! he just thinks it's very cute when I cry!) Many people I know… Murray, Hayley, Trina, Jojo… I'm looking at you!!! would love this! & I'm not even saying I wouldn't do it again, but, I can honestly say I don't remember the last time I was that scared for so long!
As a reward though, it seemed that the Panthers came out in force because they delivered probably the best game of hockey I have seen to date against the Coventry Blaze. We were sat very close to the front & it almost felt like we were on the ice! In the closing minutes of the game, Blaze were on a power play (1 of our players was off the ice serving a 2 minute penalty) Blaze pulled their goalie & bought an extra man on to try & level the score, our net minder; Craig "K-Wall" Kowalski pulled off the most amazing save I've ever seen! & shortly after that we managed an empty net goal securing our victory. Great times!
Sunday saw us at Mama Joyce & Papa Den's for roast dinner. Roo has been growing a moustache for "Movember" so I took a piccie of him with his dad (Mr Moustache himself) so you can compare & contrast! I'm very glad to say it's finally gone now though!
That's me for now. I've more to say especially about the snow we've had over the last few days! but I'll update that very soon… with piccies :)
As ever, lemma know how you are & what you're up to!
Love you lots, Sharon x
